§ 7-14-1621. Regional Rail Authority

Regional rail authority. (1) Two or more counties may by joint resolution create a regional rail authority. The resolution creating a regional rail authority must create a regional rail authority board of not less than five directors. The number of directors to be appointed, their term of office, and their qualifications must be provided for in the resolution. (2) The text of the resolution must be published as provided in 7-1-2121 in each county in which the territory of the proposed authority lies. A county may not adopt a resolution authorized by this section without a public hearing. (3) After passage of the resolution by the board of each county with territory included in the authority, the boards shall jointly appoint the initial directors of the regional rail authority.
