§ 17-2-101. Title And Purpose

Title and purpose. (1) Sections 17-2-101 through 17-2-107 may be cited as the "Treasury Fund Structure Act". (2) The purpose of these sections is to: (a) comply with Article VIII, section 12, of the Montana constitution; (b) simplify the accounting system and treasury fund structure of the state; (c) make possible the full utilization of modern accounting methods; (d) provide the legislature with a greater measure of control over public money; and (e) enable the financial records of the state to accurately reflect the state's revenue, expenditures, expenses, and financial position in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
