§ 97-3-54. 8.
There is hereby created in the State Treasury a special fund to be known as the “Relief for Victims of Human Trafficking Fund.” The fund shall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal-year limitations, and shall consist of: Monies appropriated by the Legislature; The interest accruing to the fund; Donations or grant funds received; and Monies received from such other sources as may be provided by law. The monies in the Relief for Victims of Human Trafficking Fund shall be used by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation of the Department of Public Safety solely for the administration of programs designed to assist victims of human trafficking, to conduct training on human trafficking to law enforcement, court personnel, attorneys, and nongovernmental service providers, and to support the duties of the Statewide Human Trafficking Coordinator as set forth in this act and as otherwise provided by law. From and after July 1, 2016, the expenses of the Relief for Victims of Human Trafficking Fund program shall be defrayed by appropriation from the State General Fund and all user charges and fees authorized under this section shall be deposited into the State General Fund as authorized by law and as determined by the State Fiscal Officer. From and after July 1, 2016, no state agency shall charge another state agency a fee, assessment, rent or other charge for services or resources received by authority of this section.
