§ 81-1-67. Oath of office and bond.

The commissioner and the deputy commissioner each shall, before entering upon the discharge of their respective duties, take and subscribe the constitutional oath of office and shall execute to the State of Mississippi a bond in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) with a surety company authorized to do business in this state, to be delivered to and approved by the Treasurer of the State of Mississippi. The state bank examiners shall, before entering upon the discharge of their duties, take and subscribe the constitutional oath of office and shall execute to the State of Mississippi a bond in the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) with a surety company authorized to do business in this state, to be delivered to and approved by the Treasurer of the State of Mississippi. These bonds shall, by the terms thereof, be payable to the state, and shall be liable to the state in actions brought by the Attorney General on behalf of the state, and shall also be liable in actions brought by anyone aggrieved by breach thereof. The bonds shall be conditioned for the faithful and impartial performance of the duties of the particular office for which the bond was given, for the faithful and proper handling and accounting for all funds, and for the payment of all damages and costs which may accrue under provisions of law.
