§ 73-4-13. Powers and duties of commission.

The commission is empowered to: Administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter. Promulgate such rules and regulations and prescribe such forms as are necessary for the administration and the effective and efficient enforcement of this chapter. Issue, suspend and revoke licenses in accordance with this chapter. Provide for the filing and approval of surety bonds as required by this chapter. Investigate complaints concerning licensees or persons the commission has reason to believe should be licensees, specifically including complaints respecting failure to comply with this chapter or the rules and regulations promulgated as authorized by this chapter and to take appropriate action to address such complaints. Commence actions, in the name of the State of Mississippi, in an appropriate circuit court in order to force compliance with this chapter or rules and regulations promulgated hereunder by restraining order or injunction. Hold public hearings on any matters for which a hearing is required under this chapter and to have all powers granted by law for such hearings. Adopt a seal and, through its secretary, certify copies. Appoint an executive director and employ all necessary employees and consultants to administer and enforce this chapter.
