§ 37-43-49. Storage of school books by counties.
It shall be the duty of the board of supervisors of each county in the state to provide adequate storage space in the county courthouse, or in some other building at the county site, for the storage of school books distributed under the provisions of this chapter. In the event sufficient space for the storage of such books cannot be provided in the courthouse, the board of supervisors shall be authorized to rent a room or rooms in some other building at the county site for the storage of such books, and to pay such reasonable rental therefor as may be necessary out of the general fund of the county. The county superintendent of education, with the approval of the county board of education, may expend out of the county school fund an amount not to exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) in any school year for part-time janitor’s services or other help in the handling, storage and distribution of school books.
