§ 29.21a. Fire extinguishers or fire extinguishing devices.
Except as provided in subsection (2), a person shall not sell, give, offer for sale, install for use, or allow to remain installed for use a fire extinguisher or fire extinguishing device containing an active agent having a level of vapor toxicity equal to or greater than any of the following listed materials, or a fire extinguisher or fire extinguishing device containing an active agent or propellant whose thermal decomposition product or products have a level of vapor toxicity equal to or greater than any of the following listed materials:
Carbon tetrachloride, CC
Chlorobromomethane, CH
Azeotropic chlormethane, CM-
Dibromodifluoromethane, CBr
1,2-dibromo-2-chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethane, CBr-F
1,2-dibromo-2,2-difluoroethane, CH
Methyl bromide, CH
Ethylene dibromide, CH
Hydrogen bromide, HBr
Methylene bromide, CH
Bromodifluoromethane, CHBrF
A person may sell, give, offer for sale, install for use or allow to remain installed for use, a fire extinguisher or fire extinguisher device which contains, in addition to an inert propellant, bromotrifluoromethane or bromochlorodifluoromethane, or a combination of bromotrifluoromethane and bromochlorodifluoromethane.
