§ 50.41. 50.41 Certificate of election.

1. Each person declared elected by the state board of canvassers shall receive a certificate, signed by the governor or, in the governor’s absence, by the secretary of state, with the seal of state affixed, attested by the other canvassers, to be in substance as follows: STATE OF IOWA: To ................................ (candidate’s name): It is hereby certified that, at an election held on the ................ day of ........................ you were elected to the office of ........................ of Iowa, for the term of ............ years, from the ................ day of ........................ (or if to fill a vacancy, for the residue of the term, ending on the ................ day of ........................). If the governor is absent, the certificate of the election of the secretary of state shall be signed by the auditor.
