Iowa § 262.81 - 262.81 Legislative intent.

Full text of Iowa Iowa Code § 262.81 — 262.81 Legislative intent., with citation guidance and answers to common questions.

§ 262.81. 262.81 Legislative intent.

The general assembly recognizes that educational programs designed to enhance the interrelation and cooperation among cultural, racial, and ethnic groups in society require the contribution and active participation of all ethnic and racial groups. The general assembly also recognizes that failure to include minority representation at the faculty level at the state universities contributes to cultural, racial, and ethnic isolation of minority students and does not reflect the realities of a multicultural and diverse society. Therefore, the “Regents’ Minority and Women Educators Enhancement” program is established to assist in the recruitment and retention of faculty that more adequately represents the diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic makeup of society and to improve the education of all students. 89 Acts, ch 319, §61 Thu Dec 11 19:24:27 2025 Iowa Code 2026, Section 262.81 (24, 0)
