§ 9-25-11-4. Rules

Sec. 4. The bureau may adopt rules under IC 4-22-2 to implement this chapter.

IC 9-25-11.5-1"Advisory board" Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "advisory board" refers to the real time insurance verification advisory board established by section 2 of this chapter.

IC 9-25-11.5-2Establishment of real time insurance verification advisory board Sec. 2. The real time insurance verification advisory board is established under the executive branch of state government for the purpose of advising the bureau on the implementation of the real time insurance verification program.

IC 9-25-11.5-3Membership Sec. 3. The advisory board consists of the following eight (8) members:
(1) The commissioner or the commissioner's designee.
(2) The following seven (7) members, all appointed by the commissioner:
(A) Two (2) members representing the bureau.
(B) One (1) member representing the department of insurance.
(C) Three (3) members representing insurance companies, recommended by the Insurance Industry Committee on Motor Vehicle Administration.
(D) One (1) member representing an independent insurance agency.

IC 9-25-11.5-4Chairperson; quorum; nonvoting members; term Sec. 4. (a) The members shall elect a chairperson of the advisory board at the advisory board's first meeting.
(b) A majority of the members of the advisory board constitutes a quorum.
(c) All members of the advisory board are nonvoting members. The advisory board may not take official action.
(d) An appointed member of the advisory board serves a two (2) year term, beginning December 31, 2025, and ending December 31, 2027.
(e) An appointed member of the advisory board serves at the will of the commissioner. If a vacancy occurs on the advisory board, the commissioner shall appoint an individual to fill the vacancy.

IC 9-25-11.5-5Salary per diem; mileage and traveling expenses Sec. 5. (a) A member of the advisory board who is not a state employee is not entitled to the minimum salary per diem provided by IC 4-10-11-2.1(b). The member is, however, entitled to reimbursement for mileage and traveling expenses as provided under IC 4-13-1-4 and other expenses actually incurred in connection with the member's duties as provided in the state policies and procedures established by the Indiana department of administration and approved by the budget agency.
(b) Each member of the advisory board who is a state employee, but who is not a member of the general assembly, is entitled to reimbursement for mileage and traveling expenses as provided under IC 4-13-1-4 and other expenses actually incurred in connection with the member's duties as provided in the state policies and procedures established by the Indiana department of administration and approved by the budget agency.

IC 9-25-11.5-6Advisory board staff; expenses Sec. 6. (a) The bureau shall staff the advisory board.
(b) The expenses of the advisory board shall be paid from funds appropriated to the bureau.
