§ 15-5-1.
Form and content of list. The Sections of this Part 5 are intended to constitute a list of the Sections of the Illinois Compiled Statutes that include express grants of the power to acquire property by condemnation or eminent domain. The list is intended to be comprehensive, but there may be accidental omissions and inclusions. Inclusion in the list does not create a grant of power, and it does not continue or revive a grant of power that has been amended or repealed or is no longer applicable. Omission from the list of a statute that includes an express grant of the power to acquire property by condemnation or eminent domain does not invalidate that grant of power. The list does not include the grants of quick-take power that are set forth in Article 25 of this Act, nor any other grants of power that are expressly granted under the other provisions of this Act. Items in the list are presented in the following form: ILCS citation; short title of the Act; condemning authority; brief statement of purpose for which the power is granted.
