§ 14.

Examination for licensure as dental hygienists. The Department shall conduct or authorize examinations of applicants for licensure as dental hygienists at such times and places as it may determine. The examination of applicants for licensure as dental hygienists may include both practical demonstrations and written and oral tests and shall encompass the subjects usually taught in programs of dental hygiene, approved by the Department. If an applicant fails to pass an examination for licensure under this Act within 3 years after filing his or her application, the application shall be denied. The applicant, however, may thereafter make a new application for examination accompanied by the required fee and provide evidence of meeting the requirements in effect at the time of the new application.
