§ 11-6-10.

Reimbursement of volunteer fire protection assistance. (a) Municipalities may fix, charge, and collect fees not exceeding the reasonable cost of the service for all services rendered by a volunteer municipal fire department or a volunteer firefighter of any municipal fire department for persons, businesses, and other entities who are not residents of the municipality. (b) The charge for any fees under subsection (a) shall be computed at a rate not to exceed $250 per hour and not to exceed $70 per hour per firefighter responding to a call for assistance. An additional charge may be levied to reimburse the district for extraordinary expenses of materials used in rendering such services. No charge shall be made for services for which the total amount would be less than $50. (c) All revenue from the fees assessed pursuant to this Section shall be deposited into the general fund of the municipality. (d) Nothing in this Section shall allow a fee to be fixed, charged, or collected that is not allowed under any contract that a fire department has entered into with another entity, including, but not limited to, a fire protection district.
