§ 43. (a) contains a special affirmative defense that the defendant
has received the property within intent to restore it to the owner. It is
desirable to have a special provision for such cases as where as an
insurance company pays a reward for the return of stolen property with no
questions asked. (California Joint Legislative Committee for Revision of
