§ 1203. Definitions.

(a) Person. means one or more individual, partnerships,

associations, corporations, business trusts, legal representatives,

or any organized group of persons.

(b) Employer means a person engaged in a business who has

employees, and includes Guam or any political subdivision

thereof.

(c) Employee means an employee of an employer including

any persons who is suffered or permitted to work in the

employer’s business.

(d) Territory means the island of Guam in the Marianas

Islands as defined in the Organic Act of Guam, as amended (Title

48 §§ 1421 et seq., U.S.C.A.).

(e) Occupational Safety and Health Standard means a

standard which requires conditions, or the adoption or use of one

or more practices, means, methods, operations, or processes,

reasonably necessary or appropriate to provide safe or healthful

employment and place of employment.

(f) Federal standard includes national consensus standard or

established federal standard, as defined in Section 3 of the

Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (P.L. 91-596).

(g) Department means the Department of Labor.

(h) Director means the Director of Labor, or his authorized

representative.
