§ 42-9-3. Definitions.

As used in this chapter, the term: "Board" means the State Board of Pardons and Paroles. "Community supervision officer" means a person who supervises probationers or parolees for the department. "Department" means the Department of Community Supervision. "Split sentence" means any felony sentence that includes a term of imprisonment followed by a term of probation. (Ga. The 2015 amendment, effective July 1, 2015, substituted the present provisions of this Code section for the former provisions which read: "As used in this chapter, the term 'board' means the State Board of Pardons and Paroles."
