§ 33-20C-4. Information and searchable format for directories; exclusion for dental plans.

The insurer shall make available through an online provider directory, for each network plan, the following information, in a searchable format: For healthcare professionals: Name; Gender; Contact information; Participating office location or locations; Specialty, if applicable; Board certifications, if applicable; Medical group affiliations, if applicable; Participating facility affiliations, if applicable; Languages spoken other than English by the healthcare professional or clinical staff, if applicable; Tier; and Whether they are accepting new patients; For hospitals: Hospital name; Hospital type, such as acute, rehabilitation, children's, or cancer; Participating hospital location; Hospital accreditation status; Telephone number; and Health benefit plan surprise bill rating; and For facilities other than hospitals: Facility name; Facility type; Types of services performed; Participating facility location or locations; and Telephone number. Paragraphs (2) and (3) of subsection (a) of this Code section shall not apply to standalone dental plans. (Code 1981, § 33-20C-4 , enacted by Ga. L. 2016, p. 149, § 1/SB 302; Ga. L. 2020, p. 228, § 2/HB 789.) The 2020 amendment, effective November 1, 2020, substituted "healthcare" for "health care" in paragraph (a)(1) and subparagraph (a)(1)(I), deleted "and" at the end of subparagraph (a)(2)(D), and added subparagraph (a)(2)(F). Editor's notes. - Ga. L. 2020, p. 228, § 1/HB 789, not codified by the General Assembly, provides that: "This Act shall be known and may be cited as the 'Surprise Bill Transparency Act.' " Ga. L. 2020, p. 228 contains two sections numbered as "2". The language in the second Section 2 of the Act amended this Code section.
