L. 1981, p. 852, § 1, amended this Code section so as to reduce the period of exemption from suit for representatives of joint obligors from 12 months to 6 months and to conform this Code section to Code Section 53-7-102, which was similarly amended by Ga. L. 1971, p. 433, § 2. Section 2 of this Act stated that the Act was not to be construed to imply that the 1971 Act that amended Code Section 53-7-102 did not impliedly repeal this Code section to the extent of any conflict.
