§ 17-7-112. Plea of misnomer.

A plea of misnomer should state the true name of the accused person, that he had never been known by any other name than that, and that he was not known and called by the name which was contained in the indictment or accusation. (Penal Code 1895, § 954; Penal Code 1910, § 979; Code 1933, § 27-1505.) History of section. - This Code section is derived from the decisions in Wilson v. State, 69 Ga. 224 (1882) and Wiggins v. State, 80 Ga. 468 , 5 S.E. 503 (1888).
