§ 617.2001. Corporations which may be incorporated hereunder; incorporation of certain medical services corporations.

(1) Corporations may be organized and incorporated under this chapter for any one or more lawful purposes not for pecuniary profit. However, nonprofit corporations which may be incorporated under any other law of this state governing particular types of corporations may not be incorporated under this chapter. (2) A nonprofit corporation organized before December 1, 1987, pursuant to chapter 85-56, Laws of Florida, or to s. 2, chapter 87-296, Laws of Florida, may conduct the practice of medicine, conduct programs of medical education, and carry on major medical research efforts.
