§ 1-609.01. Creation of the Excepted Service; qualifications; appointment; exclusivity of service.

The qualifications for each Excepted Service position shall be developed and issued by the appropriate personnel authority in consultation with the Mayor. Each employee appointed in the Excepted Service (except those included in ) must be well qualified for the position to which he or she is appointed. Each personnel authority may fill positions in the Excepted Service as provided in this subchapter. Excepted Service employees may be hired noncompetitively. Persons appointed to the Excepted Service are not in the Career, Educational, Executive, Management Supervisory or Legal Service.
