§ 42-4-1704. Offenses by persons controlling vehicles.
It is unlawful for the owner or any other person employing or otherwise directing the driver of any vehicle to require or knowingly to permit the operation of such vehicle upon a highway in any manner contrary to law. Any person who violates any provision of this section commits a class 2 misdemeanor traffic offense.

ANNOTATION
Because defendant specifically requested and received an instruction that authorized the jury to find him guilty of permitting a vehicle to be operated in an unlawful manner, in addition to any of the other charged counts, defendant may not complain on appeal that he was so convicted. Any error was invited. People v. Medrano-Bustamante, 2013 COA 139, 412 P.3d 581, aff'd in part, rev'd in part on other grounds sub nom. Reyna-Abarca v. People, 2017 CO 15, 390 P.3d 816.
