§ 31-31-804. Total disability.
(1) A member who meets the definition of total disability, as defined by this part 8 and the rules adopted by the board, is retired from active service for disability and is eligible to receive the disability retirement benefit provided in subsection (2) of this section.
(2) The normal annual disability retirement benefit for total disability is seventy percent of the annual base salary paid to the member immediately preceding retirement for disability.
