§ 6542. In the application of those acts to proceedings under this article the terms used
In the application of those acts to proceedings under this article the terms used in those acts shall have the following meanings: (a) âCity councilâ and âcouncilâ mean board. (b) âCityâ and âmunicipalityâ mean district. (c) âClerkâ and âcity clerkâ mean secretary. (d) âSuperintendent of streets,â âstreet superintendent,â and âcity engineerâ mean the engineer of the district, or any other person appointed to perform the duties. (e) âTax collectorâ means county tax collector. (f) âTreasurerâ and âcity treasurerâ mean any person or official who has charge of and makes payment of the funds of the district. (g) âRight-of-wayâ means any parcel of land in, on, under or through which a right-of-way or easement has been granted to the district for the purpose of constructing and maintaining any of the works or improvements mentioned in Section 6540. (h) âHealth officerâ means the health officer appointed by the legislative body having jurisdiction over all or any portion of the territory to be served by any of the works mentioned in Section 6540, except that as to cities that have consented to or contracted for health administration by the county health officer pursuant to Article 2 (commencing with Section 101375) of, or Article 3 (commencing with Section 101400) of, Chapter 4 of Part 3 of Division 101, it shall mean the county health officer.
