When any payment is made upon an assessment, the street superintendent shall mark opposite the assessment âPaid in fullâ or âPaid in part,â as the case may be, the date of payment, the amount of payment, and the name of the person by or for whom the assessment is paid. If so requested, he shall give receipt for the payment.
