§ 6-18-1801. Intent.
The General Assembly recognizes: The importance of adequate eye and vision care for school-age children as an important component to maximizing their educational opportunities and classroom performance; and The need for a study to be conducted to evaluate eye and vision care in school-age children and to develop a strategic statewide plan regarding the needs and solutions of eye and vision problems of school-age children. Therefore, the purposes of this act are to create a commission to conduct such a study and to make findings and recommendations to the General Assembly and the Governor.
