§ 5-5-404. Receipts.

When any weapon or ammunition is transferred and delivered to the State Crime Laboratory, the laboratory shall provide a receipt to be signed by the transferor or donor and the laboratory officer or employee accepting the weapon or ammunition. The receipt shall contain the following information: A list of any weapon by type, make, and caliber; The serial number of a weapon, when available; The case number of the case in which the weapon was involved, when available; and The type, caliber, and make of the ammunition, when available. A copy of the receipt shall be retained by the laboratory and a copy of the receipt shall be delivered to the agency, individual, or other entity transferring or donating a weapon or ammunition.
