§ 2-33-103. Organization and meetings.
The Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission shall from time to time select from its membership a chair and a vice chair. The commission shall adopt and may modify rules for the conduct of its business and shall keep a record of its transactions, findings, and determinations, which shall be public. The rules shall provide for regular meetings and for special meetings at the call of the chairman or the vice chairman if he or she is, for any reason, the acting chairman, either at his or her own instance or upon the written request of at least four (4) members. A majority of the membership of the commission shall constitute a quorum. A majority vote of those members present shall be required for any action of the commission. A vacancy on the commission due to death, resignation, removal, or other cause shall be filled by appointment by the Governor for the unexpired portion of the term. The Governor may remove a member of the commission before the expiration of his or her term for cause only, after notice and a hearing in accordance with §§ 25-17-210 and 25-17-211. All meetings shall be open to the public.
