§ 15-1-101. Economic Advisor.
There is established within the office of the Governor the position of Economic Advisor, to be appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Governor. The advisor shall confer and advise with the Governor on all matters pertaining to the economy of this state. On instruction of the Governor for further economic advancement, the advisor shall: Advise and confer with all state agencies having responsibilities for planning, publicity, promotion, and development of the industrial and economic advancement of this state so that the programs are coordinated into a maximum effort of promoting the industrial and economic growth of the state; Evaluate and advise the Governor with respect to all aspects of the state's industrial development program, of the effectiveness of various efforts of the program, and of means of improving it; Confer and advise with the various private organizations and groups of this state representing agriculture, labor, industry, trade and commerce, finance and banking, and other areas of economic interests to the extent that the Governor might be fully advised of all aspects of economic activity in the state and be kept informed of means whereby the State of Arkansas might aid and assist in promoting greater economic expansion and growth; and Perform such other duties with respect to the development and coordination of the state's industrial and economic expansion efforts as the Governor may direct.
