§ 14-120-210. Notice of election.

Notice of the election shall be given by the secretary of the district, not less than thirty (30) days prior to the date fixed for the election, by publication of a notice for at least two (2) consecutive weekly insertions in a newspaper published and having a bona fide circulation in each of the counties within the district. The voting places in each county shall be designated by the board of directors of the district, and there shall be not less than two (2) voting places in each county of the district. The notice of election shall be in substantially the following form: The notice shall be dated and signed by the secretary of the district. All persons of legal age owning lands within the boundaries of the particular district on the date of the election shall be entitled to vote at the election. Any corporation owning land within the boundaries of the district shall be permitted to vote at the election in the following manner: The board of directors of the corporation shall adopt a resolution designating some person to vote for it at the election, and the person so designated shall be entitled to cast one (1) vote at the election for the corporation he represents by filing with the judges of the election a certified copy of the resolution; and The judges shall return the resolution to the board of directors of the district with the ballots from the election as provided in this subchapter. No landowner or corporation shall cast more than one (1) vote at any such election. “NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION Notice is hereby given that a special election will be held in County, Arkansas, on the day of , 19 , for the purpose of determining whether the Board of Directors of District shall be authorized to cooperate with the United States Government in the execution of a certain project for the construction of levees, drains, floodways, drainage canals, reservoirs, channel rectifications, and other flood control and drainage works within the boundaries of the District according to the outline of the plan for such project which was filed in the office of the District on the day of , 19 , and whether the Board of Directors of the District shall be authorized to exercise with respect to the project the powers conferred on the District under the provisions of Act No. of the Acts of the General Assembly of Arkansas for 1949 which became effective on the day of , 1949.
