§ 12-62-302. Service on boards, commissions, and courts.

Members of boards and commissions created by this code and all military personnel, detailed to serve on any board or commission ordered by the Governor, or under his or her authority by the commanding general of the National Guard, or on any court of inquiry, court-martial, or summary court, ordered by proper authority in pursuance of any provision of this code, shall be paid for each day actually employed in such board, commission, or court, or engaged in the business thereof, or in traveling to and from the same, and mileage necessarily traveled in going to and returning from such duty shall be allowed. The pay shall be the same as for officers and enlisted personnel of the United States Armed Forces of equal grade, rating, and length of service. Mileage payment shall be allowed for going and returning to serve any process or mandate of a military court, the distance to be computed from the place where it is served to the place where it is returnable.
