§ 14-17-305. Purpose of commission.

The general purpose of a metropolitan or regional planning commission shall be to make those studies and plans for the development of the metropolitan area or region that will: Guide the unified development of the area; Eliminate planning duplication; Promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the area; and Promote the general welfare and prosperity of its people.
