§ 13-10-101. Creation — Duties.

There is created the Arkansas Medal of Honor Commission. The Arkansas Medal of Honor Commission shall be composed of: The Secretary of State, or his or her designee; and Four (4) commissioners appointed by the Governor. The Arkansas Medal of Honor Commission shall: Meet as necessary to review and approve the names of Medal of Honor recipients submitted for possible inclusion on the Arkansas Medal of Honor Memorial; Provide the Secretary of State the names of Medal of Honor recipients that are to be added to the Arkansas Medal of Honor Memorial; Provide the Capitol Arts and Grounds Commission design and layout recommendations for the adding of Medal of Honor recipients' names to the Arkansas Medal of Honor Memorial; and Solicit, receive, and disburse funds necessary to accomplish the Arkansas Medal of Honor Commission's duties under this subsection. State funding shall not be utilized to accomplish the purposes of this chapter.
