§ 42.0453. Jurisdiction over defendant.

(a) The procedure to obtain jurisdiction of the person or property of the obligor shall be as provided in civil cases. (b) The obligor may assert any defense available to a defendant in an action on a foreign judgment. (c) If the obligor defaults, the district court shall enter an order confirming the registered support order and determining the amounts remaining unpaid. (d) If the obligor appears and a hearing is held, the district court shall adjudicate the issues including the amounts remaining unpaid. Amendments: 1979 Subsections (c) and (d): substituted reference to district court for reference to High Court.
