§ 22.0802. Procedure in lieu of other procedures.

The procedure set forth in this chapter may be employed in lieu of all others for violations of this title not amounting to felonies. Case Notes: Police may initiate prosecution for traffic offense by issuing ordinary traffic citation and summons even well after all parties have left the scene of the offense, and due process does not require usual procedural protection of full criminal prosecution.
